The purpose of
the Computer System and Equipment Use Policy is to
communicate to
users
the manner in which The Fake Chicken Company will provide access to
computer systems and networks and to advise acceptable
use with regard to the equipment in their care. The
Fake Chicken Company
computer systems, networks and equipment have been provided
to enable
employees,
external contractors, remote, home and external users to
perform duties and tasks as designated by their contract of
service or contract for service and it is the responsibility
of the user of the equipment to ensure it is maintained and
operated in accordance with this policy.
SCOPE
This policy
affects all
users
of
computer systems, networks and equipment owned or
managed by The Fake Chicken Company.
1.1.1 Users of
The Fake Chicken Company's computer systems or networks are prohibited from
in any way damaging, disrupting, or interfering with the
operations of the systems to which they are connected.
Any
actions or activities, whether intended or accidental which
cause, or could cause the computer systems, information or
networks of the company to be compromised in any way is
considered serious misconduct including:-
· Effecting security breaches or disruptions of network
communications. Disruption includes, but is not limited to,
network sniffing, pinged floods, packet spoofing, denial of
service and forged routing information for malicious
purposes.
· Port scanning or security scanning. These activities are
expressly prohibited unless prior notification to Council is
made and authorisation given.
· Circumventing user authentication or security of any host,
network or account or running password cracking programs.
1.2.1In the
situation where a user
is allocated a Personal Computer, Laptop or Workstation they
must use standard corporate applications that The
Fake Chicken Company is legally licenced for...
This policy
seeks to ensure that
users
are employing the version of the application being used is
the one being commonly used corporate wide and software management,
including version control and the deployment of upgrades
is made much easier.
2.1.1The security
of The Fake Chicken Company computer equipment at an alternative work site is
as important as it is at the main office. At
alternative work sites, reasonable precautions must be taken
to protect equipment and information from theft, damage, and
misuse.
3.1.1Staff,
contractors, consultants and other third parties will be
provided with the necessary equipment to access the
computer systems and networks owned or managed by The Fake
Chicken Company once authorisation
for access has been granted.
This policy
means that only those who have been authorised to access the
computer systems and networks of the company will be
provided with a device to effect this access. It is
the responsibility of the Line Manager requiring the access
to verify the credentials of the person requesting the
device and the IT Manager to confirm the request has been
granted.
3.3.1All equipment used to gain access to The
Fake Chicken Company
computer systems and networks
must comply with the requirements of the
Anti-Virus Policy.
In order to minimise the
risk of a security breach the anti-virus policy requirements
must be met before a
user
can gain access to information on corporate
networks.
